Hear from the team
Briefly introduce yourself. Hi I’m Sacha, Training Manager at Bookmark. Occasionally sarcastic, usually found being powered by coffee and usually talking about dogs and books.
What is it like to work at Bookmark? Everyone is incredibly committed to helping provide reading support for children and we are determined to succeed in our goals- therefore it’s incredibly busy and there is always a lot to do. However, we also take the time for each other – supporting across all functions, focusing on expanding our own skill sets and looking at ways to improve the charity.
What is your favourite thing about your role? Training. I mean it’s in the title! I love sharing knowledge and helping people. I would also say I love the diversity of tasks, one day I’m writing GDPR training, the next I’m supporting on structure for video content for a fundraising event.
What does a day typically look like for you, in your role? It is very varied! At the moment, my key focus is building our Bookmark Library (our online learning platform for volunteers) and I spend most of my day working on content for that. I also support with interviewing, manage H&S, run workshops, design the occasional PowerPoint presentation, look after new employees, run volunteer training, research new topics, oh and organise social events!
Who should apply to work at Bookmark? We work hard at Bookmark, but we work together. I think it helps to have a real passion for our cause and to be adaptable.
