Your Story Corner Launches in Wolverhampton

Bookmark Reading Charity has launched this week in Wolverhampton, aiming to encourage primary schools across the city to apply for the Your Story Corner packs worth £2,000.

Bookmark has decided to work with the region due to a number of factors, not least the rising deprivation children in the area are experiencing.

  • In Wolverhampton, 21.1% of the population was income-deprived in 2018.

  • Of the 316 local authorities in England, it was ranked the 11th most income deprived according to ONS 2019 data.

  • Experiencing high levels of child poverty, 31.65 in 2019 compared to a national average of 19.1%, the impact of COVID and the cost of living crisis, has continued to impact children in the area.

Applications are now closed.

Visit our Your Story Corner page to learn more about the programme and how to apply.
