Emily Jack, Chief Executive Officer (on maternity leave)
Emily started life at Bookmark as Head of Schools in March 2022 before…Emily started life at Bookmark as Head of Schools in March 2022 before becoming CEO 18 months later. Emily has been working in the education sector for over a decade. She is a qualified teacher and previously founded a tutoring agency, as well as being a director of The Tutors’ Association from 2019 to 2021.

Frankie Smith, Interim Chief Executive Officer
Frankie is our Interim Chief Executive Officer whilst Emily Jack is on…Frankie is our Interim Chief Executive Officer whilst Emily Jack is on Maternity leave. Frankie joined Bookmark in 2023 as our Chief Finance and Operations Officer, where he led our Operations team, which includes our Finance, Data, Technology, People, Governance and Impact teams. Frankie is a chartered accountant who previously worked at KPMG and The Zoological Society of London.

With 12 years’ experience across commercial sectors, he brings strategic insight and storytelling expertise to drive awareness, engagement and lasting impact in the third sector.

Laura Burke, Director of Fundraising
Laura led the Bookmark Corporate Partnerships team for two years before…Laura led the Bookmark Corporate Partnerships team for two years before being appointed Head of Fundraising in 2024. Prior to joining Bookmark, Laura gained experience through roles in both private sector sales and fundraising for Mind.

Emily leads School Partnerships and Volunteering at Bookmark, supporting…Emily leads School Partnerships and Volunteering at Bookmark, supporting engagement across both communities. Drawing on her health‑sector contract management background, she uses data to strengthen school relationships and to grow our volunteer base. This is to improve the experience for everyone involved and enable Bookmark to reach more children who need our support.
