Bookmark Trustee
At Bookmark, our vision is simple: we want every child to read. We partner with schools to build whole-school reading cultures and provide one-to-one reading support so more children develop the confidence and skills to thrive. We’re now recruiting for three new Trustees, including a Treasurer. As Treasurer, you’ll help safeguard the charity’s financial health and fulfil our statutory responsibilities – bringing rigorous oversight and strategic insight to support sustainable growth and impact. We’re also keen to broaden the Board’s skills and perspectives, welcoming applicants from diverse backgrounds – especially those with experience in AI, digital and technology and the education and literacy sectors – to strengthen governance and accelerate our mission.
Trustees are expected to commit around 10 hours per month to the charity. Board meetings are usually held 4 times per year, either in person (Central London) or remotely. In addition, Trustees will be required to attend sub-committees/advisory boards, which meet 2 to 4 times per year.
Trustees are appointed for a 3‑year term and can be re-elected. The role is unpaid, however reasonable expenses are paid in line with the charity’s expenses policy.
