First News Virtual Assembly: Live Q&A with Journalists

Red and blue text on a white background.

Join us for an exclusive virtual assembly exclusively for Bookmark partner schools, hosted by the First News editorial team. This interactive session is designed especially for Key Stage 2 pupils and will give them the opportunity to ask questions directly to real journalists.

Following the success of our previous webinar, this event will be primarily a live Q&A, shaped by pupil curiosity and classroom discussion.

What to expect

Pupils will:

  • Take part in a live Q&A with First News journalists
  • Ask about real newsroom life and how stories are chosen
  • Learn what it’s really like to be a journalist
  • Hear a brief introduction to newspaper writing to set the scene

Schools are encouraged to prepare questions in advance. You can also submit questions ahead of time or when signing up.

Key details:

  • Location: Online via Microsoft Teams – link shared ahead of the event
  • Format: Live virtual assembly (with audience Q&A)
  • Audience: Key Stage 2 pupils from Bookmark partner schools

Please note: This event will be recorded and made available on our secure learning platform, 360Learning. Completing the form confirms your intention to attend live and your consent to being recorded.
