Story makers: young children creating, telling and responding to stories with The Open University

In this virtual event, Teresa Cremin CBE and Samantha Hulston from the Open University, will explore two approaches to develop young children’s engagement with stories and support their reading for pleasure. 

Storyworld play as well as storytelling and story acting will be presented as meaningful and enjoyable practices, capable of enthusing children in the Early Years and Key Stage 1. 

In the first session, they will explore the practicalities of making these approaches come alive in the classroom, before inviting attendees to think about how they could include one of these approaches in their practice. 

The second session will provide a collaborative space for teachers and practitioners to share their initial experiences and to discuss how to build upon these, enriching opportunities for young children as story makers (we will share more details of this webinar soon).
