Transform your primary school’s reading culture

We start with an in-depth consultation to understand your needs. Then we create a tailored action plan for your school.
You’ll receive up to £10,000 in targeted funding, along with one-to-one reading support from our trained volunteers.
The result is simple: stronger literacy outcomes and a lasting love of reading for every student.
APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED
After submitting our application form, you’ll be contacted by a member of our team who will provide a simple questionnaire, designed to give a preliminary assessment of your school’s current reading culture.
Following a review of your answers, we’ll conduct more in-depth interviews with school staff and collaborate to identify the specific areas that your school needs support on.
What’s involved in our Literacy Partner Programme?
This programme could involve:
- Volunteer-led one-to-one reading support for pupils
- Library upgrades, including furniture, shelving and displays
- Subscriptions to proven literacy interventions
- Expert support and resources from literacy partners
- Fresh teaching ideas and high-quality CPD
- Book bundles, audiobooks and The Story Corner magazine
- Reading scrapbooks and book clubs to engage pupils
- Book fairs and author visits to bring reading to life
What schools are eligible?
We partner with schools in areas of deprivation with higher than national average levels of pupil premium and IDACI figures (Income Deprivation Affecting Children Index) along with lower than national average figures for Key Stage 2 reading levels.
Our programme’s impact in 2024/25
In 2024/25, we delivered more than 30,000 books and more than 65,000 magazines to 90 schools.
