Team Bookmark's Christmas Reads

To recharge ahead of an exciting 2023, what are the Bookmark team hoping to read over the Christmas break? (Santa, you might want to take note…)

  • The First to Die at the End’ by Adam Silvera, which is the prequel to the book I'm currently reading – Ed, Operational Support

  • ‘Alias Grace’ by Margaret Atwood, because it's been untouched on my bookshelf for about a month now – Meg, Programme Support

  • I'm about a third of the way through ‘Klara and the Sun’ so would really like to read more books by Kazuo Ishiguro – Sacha, Head of Volunteering

  • ‘The Nightingale’ by Kristin Hannah because I love a historical fiction! – Abbie, Marketing

  • ‘Swimming Home’ by Deborah Levy, I'm quite new to her writing but read her autobiography ‘The Cost of Living’ over lockdown and absolutely loved it! – Hani, Fundraising

  • I am really wanting to read ‘Hotel Splendide’ this Christmas… I did technically just buy it for myself but might put it under the tree just for effect! - Laura, Fundraising

  • I would LOVE the Slytherin version of the Harry Potter special edition box set to go with my Gryffindor set and maybe a signed copy of my (current!) book of the year ‘Wrong Place, Wrong Time’ by Gillian McAllister as I just missed out on a copy. - Karen, Operational Support

  • ‘The Electric State’ by Simon Stalenhag - I love post-apocalyptic stories and films, and with this becoming a film soon I'd love to read the original material – Martin, School Business Development

We hope these give you some inspiration for your own reading list!

We’re wishing all our volunteers, partner schools and supporters a wonderful festive season and we’re looking forward to doing it all over again with you in 2023!
